The Plan of Salvation

According to the holy scriptures God requires action on our part to start our journey to salvation. 

 

1.  HEAR.     We must hear the good news of Jesus Christ.  
  "So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God"    Romans 10:17    
 

2.  BELIEVE .  We must believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and that he came to earth as a man to teach us how to live.    He died on the cross as a perfect sacrifice for our sins and was raised by God on the their day so we could have hope of eternal life in heaven, if we believe. 

"For God so loved the world that He gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting  life."   John 3:16 

 

3.  REPENT.  We must repent for the remission of our sins at the age we know right from wrong.  With repenting we  make the choice to turn from sin and live for God instead.  

"Peter  said unto them, repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of  Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost."   Acts 2:38

4.  CONFESS     We must confess with our mouths that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. 

"If thou confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God has raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.  For with the heart man believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."   Romans 10:9,10

5. BE BAPTIZED   We must be fully immersed in the water, to wash away our sins.

"Then Peter said unto them, repent and  be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins."   Acts 2:38 

"Both Philip and the Eunuch went down into the water and Philip baptized him"    Acts 8:38
